CURRICULUM

Department of English Language and Literature thinks highly of teaching our students based on learners' ability, and provides diversified and individualized curriculum planning for students of different levels. As these reasons, change of Our Curriculum Structure has been comprehensively approved by Department Meeting and the Meeting of College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and it has been implemented since the beginning of 2016 academic year.

In addition to Core Curriculum with the total of 36 required credits, a numerous of professional courses, offered by our Department, can be divided into four main groups, including History of Western Literature, Topics on Western Culture, Linguistics and English Teaching, and English for Practical Purposes. The graduation requirement is students must complete at least two groups of professional curriculum with the minimum complete credits for each groups as shown in the above flow chart. Sure-footed English Learning category is compulsory for students who do not pass a B1-CEFR or equivalent examination. Lastly, other English Elective and second major courses are not listed in the above categories.
