Its founding mission focused on cultivating students\u2019 knowledge of English and American literature, and it was originally named the \u201cDepartment of English and American Literature.\u201d Beginning in the 2023, it was renamed the \u201cDepartment of Foreign Languages and Literatures,\u201d with an emphasis on training professionals in English\/Spanish language teaching, English\/Spanish for business applications, and multimedia cultural applications. Starting from the 2026\u20132027 academic year, it will be renamed the \u201cDepartment of Foreign Languages and Applied Emerging Technologies\u201d integrating emerging technologies (AI, AR\/VR, multimedia, etc.) into its curriculum. The program centers on professional English for business, tourism, and MICE industries, English teaching, literature, and a second foreign language, fostering cross-disciplinary innovation in English (foreign language) education.
